Maintenance Dosing

Recurrence and Maintenance Dosing: Patient-Reported Outcomes

Continuing FECO Use:

    • Based on PROs, stopping all FECO use after remission may be associated with an increased risk of the cancer returning.
    • Continuing to use low doses of FECO after achieving remission may help reduce this risk.
    • If cancer recurs despite maintenance dosing, it may be necessary to increase FECO intake back to therapeutic levels.

Maintenance Dose:

    • There is no need to maintain treatment-level doses indefinitely.
    • Smaller, maintenance doses appear effective for many patients.

Based on Patient-Reported Outcomes:

    • THC Maintenance Doses:
      • 42.3% of patients reported using 1-3 grams per month of THC FECO (approximately 1-2 rice grains per day).
    • CBD Usage:
      • 31% of patients included CBD in their maintenance doses.
      • Those who specified doses reported taking .1-.25g of CBD FECO per day.
    • Given the synergy between THC and CBD, including both in maintenance dosing may be beneficial.
