How To Make FECO: Magical Butter Machine Method

Materials Needed
- 30 grams raw, unground, pre-decarboxylated cannabis
- 500mL (2 cups) grain alcohol (such as Everclear)
- Magical Butter (MB) machine
- Metal pan
- Aluminum foil
- Oven
- Strainer
- Glass jar with lid (any jar with a lid that can securely be put on is appropriate)
- Sieve filter
- Coffee filter
- Hot plate with temperature setting
- Oral syringe
Step by Step Process
Step 1
Put the cannabis in a metal pan and cover with aluminum foil. Place in oven at 225F for 45 minutes to 1 hour. This decarboxylates the cannabis, changing THCA to THC. The cannabis will turn from green to brown during this process.
Step 2
Put cannabis and alcohol in MB machine and set for 130F at 4 hours.
Step 3
Pour tincture through sieve filter into a glass jar to remove cannabis flower.
Step 4
Cover the container with aluminum foil, and freeze the solution for 24 hours. This will facilitate sediment removal in the next step.
Step 5
After 24 hours, put the now-cold solution through a sieve filter with a coffee filter over it to remove sediment.
Step 6
Once the solution has strained, pour it in a metal pan that has been placed on a hot plate. Set the hot plate temperature to 190F. At this temperature, the ethanol will begin to evaporate. Stir occasionally to accelerate the process and prevent burning of the extract. It usually takes a few hours for the evaporation process to complete.
Step 7
Let the FECO cool slightly so it is warm but not hot. Pull it up into an oral syringe straight from the pan.
