THC FECO vs CBD FECO

Most FECO products look similar. They are thick extracts that come in oral syringes, with the FECO itself being sticky and having a dark appearance. Despite these similarities, the chemical compounds present in FECO can vary tremendously, and these are what determine the actual effects. In this article, you will learn about the different types of FECO and how to use them most effectively.

THC FECO

When most people say “use FECO”, they are referring to THC FECO. THC is the most famous compound in cannabis, being the one that causes psychoactivity. THC is a cannabinoid, which is a special type of chemical found almost exclusively in the cannabis plant. There are over 100 cannabinoids, although very little is known about most of them.

The term “THC FECO” refers to a FECO that is dominant in THC, not pure, 100% THC. For example, a good THC FECO may be 70% THC. Of the remaining 30%, some of that weight will be other cannabinoids, as well as terpenes and plant matter. This is a good thing, as evidence suggests that other cannabinoids and terpenes work together with THC to enhance its effects.

It is critical to be especially careful with THC FECO when starting out. Because it is so concentrated, it is easy to take too much and experience excessive psychoactivity. By starting with the smallest possible amount and increasing very slowly, the chances of side effects can be minimized.

CBD FECO

The second most dominant compound in the cannabis plant is CBD. This chemical does not cause THC-like psychoactivity and is less associated with side effects. If a FECO product is made from a CBD-rich strain of cannabis, it will contain mostly CBD.

As with THC FECO, CBD FECO is not 100% CBD. In addition to CBD, the FECO will contain other cannabinoids, terpenes, and plant components.

CBD is known to have many benefits, including anticancer, anti-anxiety, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant effects. However, there are relatively few cases of patients beating cancer only using CBD, whereas there are many successful cases where THC FECO was the only treatment. At this time, there is no doubt that THC is the more important compound for fighting cancer than CBD.

However, emerging evidence suggests that using THC and CBD together may be effective. For example, one study showed that CBD enhanced the anticancer effects of THC on glioblastoma cells. By having THC and CBD FECO products, doses of both major cannabinoids can be accurately administered, taking advantage of their synergistic and unique effects.

THC/CBD FECO

In almost all cases, both THC and CBD FECO products are going to have a little bit of the other cannabinoid in them – for example, a THC FECO may be 70% THC and 1% CBD, and a CBD FECO may be 70% CBD and 1% THC. There are also FECO products that have more balanced combinations of THC and CBD in various ratios. A 1:1 THC:CBD FECO product may have 35% THC and 35% CBD, while a 2:1 THC:CBD product may have 50% THC and 25% CBD.

In general, we do not recommend using FECO products like this. It locks you into a specific ratio, so if one day you want to give more THC than CBD, or vice versa, that is not possible. Some people like the convenience of balanced FECO products and they do have their place, but if possible, it is generally better to use mainly THC and CBD FECO products.

Strains

It is important to mention that THC FECO products in particular may have different effects based on the strain, even if they have the exact same percentage of THC. This is because different strains have different terpene profiles, and terpenes also influence psychoactive effects. For example, a THC FECO from a “sativa” strain will have terpenes that are uplifting and energizing, while a THC FECO from an “indica” strain will have terpenes that are sedating and relaxing. Overall, it seems that indica THC FECO products are less likely to cause anxiety.

Furthermore, the best FECO products will be made from multiple indica strains, not just one. This ensures a wider variety of terpenes and other compounds are present, so there are more compounds to synergize with cannabinoids and enhance their anticancer effects.

Summary

THC FECO products are the most popular and impactful type of FECO on the market, but CBD FECO also has value and can be beneficial to use in combination with THC. It can take experimentation to find exactly what works best in your situation. By starting with low doses, slowly increasing, and keeping track of effects, you can determine your own most effective, custom dosing protocol.
